Biografía

ENGLISH:

Un Festín Sagital was born in 2002 from an improvisation duo consisting of Michel Leroy in Hammond organ and Minker Moreno in drums. Then the band evolved through different line-ups and sounds. Throughout the following decade of its existence, the band recorded intensely, and many albums were created. Epitafio a la Permanencia (2007), the band's first release on Beta-lactam Ring Records, has been described by Edward Ka-Spel as a masterpiece that sounds as a collaboration of Pierre Henry and Christian Vander. It was followed by Sic Deus Dilexit Mundum, a more agressive album recorded between 2007 and 2009, which featured many guests (Aranos, Pintocabezas, Fakuta, etc.). On the other hand, in Bestias Solares (recorded in 2008-2010) Un Festín Sagital found a new unique sound, wich was described as some kind of "blackened-noise Os Mutantes" –as can be seen, the band always inspires interesting and freak descriptions and musical connections.

After Bestias Solares –which was released on tape through Black Horizons in 2013–, Un Festín Sagital went through a sonic experiment that was called "the infinite jam" (ca. 2010-2012), in which hours and hours of free-form psychedelic experiments were recorded and released for free download. Three albums that were conceived in those stoned sessions stand out: Kosmodynamos, Etna and Hummus Diluido, all of which were recorded live in the studio and feature a more organic sound. Kosmodynamos was UFS' first vinyl release (via Beta-lactam Ring Records in 2014), and the most beloved album to date for the band itself. Also in 2014, Etna was released by Black Horizons, while Hummus Diluido was released as a split tape with impro-psych chilean band A Full Cosmic Sound via ETCS Records.

In 2013 the band released Deimos, a dark electro-experimental EP, through Black Horizons. In 2015-2016, UFS released three EPs with different collaborations: Moesta et Errabunda (with Armchair Migraine Journey and ex-Preterite multi-instrumentalist James Hamilton), Habitando la Fisura (with Armchair Migraine Journey) and Cortex Post-Corteza Post-Cell (with Lars Tängmark), each one very unique, but also with the natural Sagital identity.
