Un Festín Sagital – Etna

Tape from the mighty Un Festin Sagital, out of Santiago, Chile. Here, things get a lot more jammed out and long-form. Not as weird as the last tape, and not as sophisticated as the first, these are some heavy, spacey tracks that situate UFS in more Acid Mother's territory than the RIO Prog they've been brandishing. That being said, there is still plenty of flute to make everyone happy. Sparse vocals and a Latin flavored groove. J-cards are silver offset on green metallic stock, with the cover being a William Blake painting. Also comes with a mini-poster with art from the talented Jesse Peper, who has done the art on the previous two tapes. Edition of 100 copies on smokey black tapes with silver labels. —James Livingston

Un Festín Sagital – Deimos

Another quick tape release from the excellent Un Festin Sagital, hailing from Santiago, Chile, and playing a rather distinct and modern progressive blend. Here we get four tracks in 23 minutes, one being a deep ritual drone piece in collaboration with Decidious Flux. Odd electronic compositions and a production that sounds almost underwater makes for a very unique sound. Four panel j-card. Offset silver printing on bronze metallic paper. Un Festín Sagital – Sic Deus Dilexit Mundum

Available as an edition of 400 copies. All copies from the label and artist will receive the bonus album "Muerte Solar" and the first 50 copies include a band made blood insert, all packaged in a custom made book bound gatefold sleeve with eye popping artwork by the one and only Jesse Peper. Rock in opposition to Rock In Opposition. Un Festin Sagital's formulae are Sagittarian with surprises. The dense, electro-motorik opening statement that SEEMS like it will be thematic, is eventually reneged upon by tiny sounds orbiting disembodied voices. A congregation of folk-psych and noise follows on in the tradition of anti-tradition, pronating on the side of a rather thrilling, ghostly top tenor performing expert vocal routines on the uneven bars. Upon the arrival the album's truest progressive gnostication, it becomes clear that, while beautiful with a little bit of a Crimson tide running through it, UFS prefers its musical limbs remain dislocated. This is especially evidenced by the final reverberating drone of floating on the far side of the galaxy at journey's end. Along with copper and unmanufactured ferro-alloy materials, UFS are one of Chile's finest exports.

Improvised, composed, recorded, reworked and mixed between 2007 and 2009, in Templo Sagital, Santiago, Zhile. Mastered by Randall Frazier at Helmet Room. Artwork by Jesse Peper. Layout and design by Chris.
Thanks to: Jesse Peper (this album from the mixing stage was inspired by his painting Sic Deus Dilexit Mundum), all the Beta-lactam Ring Records family (for support and inspiration), Gonzalo Díaz (for inspiration and lyrics), Javiera (for vital inspiration and visual act), big thanks to all in this Sagital incarnation... including you.

Line-up:

Aztharoth—lowest whispers of life, the earth is murmuring their formless passion (electric bass)
Cinturón Negro—lucid madness of a tribal insanity (tenor sax)
Aranos—violins from the craziest feast in human history, more strings for the puppet-god (double bass, viola, trumpet and violin), little touches of quiet wildness (percussions, included a gong)
Algotra—the insolent chaos of non rational life-sail (dissonant and sutile violins)
Pintocabezas—analogue perversion of paradise and the lust of Buddha (analogue noises and sitar)
Fakuta—the nice daughter of god, is eve (sweet surrealistic voices)
Tara—voices from a bestial dream
Thanatoloop—sonic alchemy, sacred conception, digital screams of a horny saint, the acoustic distortion of six sacred gates, the piano of the hottest bar in hell, the voice of doG, the drums of the rite, some low vibrations of the underground, and disintegrated poetry (sound production, concept-composition, electric and acoustic guitar, violin, bass, keyboards, electronics, voices, percussion, lyrics and acoustic piano)

Un Festín Sagital – Bestias Solares

(clic para agrandar/click to enlarge)

This is a graceful bizarre album, with a unique mix of a dark acid folk, dressed with metallic low distorsions, progressive dynamism, weird voices, wild and sutile noises, and all with a deep psychedelic heart.
"Got a CD in the mail today of Anakrid collabortation with Templo Sagital - which I hope sees a vinyl release because it is INCREDIBLE (like a metal and noise take on Os Mutantes!)" Nice review to the bone of Chris Bickel from the incredible Anakrid.

Line-up:
Thanatoloop—voz, gui. acústica limpia y distorsionada, percusiones, theremin, ondas de radio y electroacústica
Conejo Verde—guitarra eléctrica y voces
Fernando Pinto—bajo y voces
Ricardo Pérez—batería y voces
Gonzalo Díaz—percusión y voces
Anakrid—ruidos ocasionales

Un Festín Sagital – 3 Ragas de Éxtasis Cósmico

(clic para agrandar/click to enlarge)

This is the third published LP of a series of recordings made by Un Festín Sagital from a three-month jam session. Yes! The band improvised for three months, many hours a day, and from this period many cassettes and .wav tracks where produced, soon to be edited in this –for sure– looong series. In this specific album we have a three-part voyage, with an emotive beggining, of drone pop with free jazz elements, and with a  strong intergalactic charge of theremin and spacy guitars... and as the lyrics said, "we still have time" ("aún queda tiempo"), so the music transforms in a kraut-motorik mantra, in the caracteristic dubby slow groove of Digy Garz's drums... this post-industrial mantra, filled with abrasive noises, crash in a electroacustic way, in a brief free jazz, that is a bridge to another freak mantra, one that is based in a loop, a swing loop, that gives the base to tribal percussions, sax versus touchpad duel and a strange voice that talks about beasts, caress and states of ecstasy.

Line-up:
Michel Leroy—voz, theremin, percusión y expansión electrónica
Thomas Jerome—touchpad
L-Humano—saxofón
Felipe Pinto—saxofón y percusión
Alberto Parra—guitarra eléctrica
Fernando Pinto—bajo
Diego Pinto—batería
Constanza Lagos—percusión
Gonzalo Díaz—percusión

Un Festín Sagital – Silencio Solar: en la Luz del Horror

(clic para agrandar/click to enlarge)

This album is a post-produced recording of a unreleased song, and a 50 minutes improvisation. Recorded originaly in the year 2007 at Elefantenumero6 studios. This is a radical free rock, with a lot of dynamics (progressive?), with a surrealistic-psychedelic sound edition. This is a very intense and unique album, with extraterrestial heavy guitars, thrash drums, precise basses, formless noises and crazy vocals. Some kind of free psychedelic heavy metal... something close to a band maded by some wierd David Tibet / Attila / Rob Halford hibryd (also with some simlitudes to the higher pitch of Cinderella's vocalist, but non a tribute at all), as I was saying, this is like some wierd outsider heavy psychedelic vocalist, was jamming with a drunk Tool / Can kind of band, in a upcoming psylocibe voyage.

Line-up:
Michel Leroy—voz, guitarra electroacústica y electronica
Conejo Verde—guitarra eléctrica
Fernando Pinto—bajo eléctrico
Ricardo Pérez—batería
